This year's Annual Lecture organised by Waterlooville u3a is a compelling and extraordinary story of Sohail Husain's family, spanning the First World War, the Great Depression, the Partition of India and the Holocaust.

Sohail's German Jewish mother and Indian Muslim father, although separated by birthplace, race, faith, language and age, were brought together in a complicated and unconventional love affair borne of their common experience of unimaginable loss and upheaval.
